ARAVINND IYER

I'm an Actor, Screenwriter, Director based out of Bengaluru and Dubai. Before my journey into the film industry, I worked as an Automotive Engineer at Ford Motor Company and Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, as well as Robert Bosch in Bengaluru.

 

To hone my skills as an actor, I studied screen acting at City Academy, London, and immersed myself in theatre with MISF!T in Bengaluru. While exploring acting opportunities in the Kannada film industry, my curiosity expanded to encompass broader aspects of filmmaking, particularly writing and direction. To gain proficiency in these areas, I embraced a hands-on approach and ventured into filmmaking.

 

In my initial foray into filmmaking, I wrote and directed 175 Grams, a short sports documentary. The film achieved acclaim by winning at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival's short film challenge and also received an award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Concurrently, my pursuit in acting led me to prominent roles in Kannada feature films Kahi and Kirik Party. Kahi won the state award for the best screenplay, while Kirik Party enjoyed resounding commercial success. My work as an actor was recognised in these films and opened doors to lead roles in feature films such as Bheemasena Nalamaharaja, Bhoogata, Bisi Bisi Ice Cream, and the web series Hate You Romeo.
